NE 36th Avenue (NE 14th Street to NE 35th Street)

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”)  is currently in the Design phase of a project to widen NE 36th Avenue from NE 14th Street to NE 35th Street. This project is in the City of Ocala in Marion County and will span approximately 1.5 miles. The project has been divided into 3 segments: Segment 1 is from NE 14th Street (SR 492) to NE 20th Place; Segment 2 is from NE 20th Place to NE 25th Street; and Segment 3 is from NE 25th Street to NE 35th Street. The project will widen the existing two-lane road to a four-lane roadway, add bicycle lanes and sidewalks, and improve traffic signals. FDOT has budgeted $15.7 million for right of way acquisition. Construction has not yet been scheduled.
