SR 45 (US 41) from 111th Place Lane to SW 61st Street

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is finalizing plans for the expansion of State Road 45 (US 41) in Marion County. The project will span 4.3 miles from 111th Place Lane to SW 61st Street. The purpose is to increase capacity, improve operation, and introduce pedestrian and bicycle facilities. The project will widen the roadway from 2 to 4 lanes, add several turn lanes, and improve bike lanes and sidewalks. Right-of-Way acquisition will be completed by the end of 2017. The project is funded to begin construction in the fall of 2018. SR 40 From Southwest 40th Avenue to Southwest 27th Avenue

Marion County

The Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") has plans to widen and reconstruct SR 40 at the I-75 interchange to provide two left turn lanes to both northbound and southbound I-75. There are also supplementary plans to widen and add an additional left turn lane to the SR 40 and 27th Ave. intersection. Right turn lanes will be added from eastbound SR 40 to southbound 27th Ave. The project is expected to be 1.33 miles long with a $8 million dollar Right-of-Way budget.  Appraisals should begin in September, 2017 with negotiations beginning in April, 2018.  Construction is currently scheduled for June, 2019. SR 40 Segment 1

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is completing design plans to widen approximately 5 miles of State Road 40. The new roadway will have two 12-foot lanes in each direction separated by a 40-foot grassed median. This project will take place between Silver Springs Road and County Road 314 in Marion County. SR 326 Turn Lane Addition

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is planning to add a right turn lane for southbound County Road 25A to westbound State Road 326. In addition, a right turn lane from westbound State Road 326 to northbound County Road 25A is currently being researched. This project will take place in Marion County, on State Road 326, between Railroad Crossing 627142B to east of County Road 25A, a length of 0.216 miles. It is currently in the Design phase. FDOT expects to spend about $450,000 on Right-of-Way acquisition. NE 25th Avenue (14th to 35th Street)

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”)  has released plans to add lanes to NE 25th Avenue in Marion County. The project is expected to be 1.6 miles long with plans to widen NE 25th Avenue to four-lanes from SR 492/NE 14th Street to NE 24th Street. The remainder of NE 25th Avenue, north of NE 24th Street to NE 35th Street, will be maintained as a two-lane facility but will be re-aligned to improve safety. As of September 8, 2015, recommendations include a railway overpass over the CSX tracks in hopes of reducing delays. Various other suggestions include sidewalks, a bicycle lane, and a 20 foot median. Once the P&E study is completed in December of 2015 and approved, FDOT will begin official design, construction, and Right-of-Way acquisition. The anticipated study completion date is December 2015. As of September 8, 2015, FDOT's study indicates a need for four lane segment from NE 14th Street to NE 24th Street and NE 24th Street to NE 35th Street. Various other recommendations include construction of a railway overpass in hopes of reducing delays, a bicycle lane, and 20 foot median. SE 92nd Loop (Belleview Bypass) – Marion County – Update

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) recently released updated Right of Way Maps for the expansion of SE 92nd Loop (Belleview Bypass) from US 27/441 to SR 35 in Marion County. The recently released maps indicate that FDOT plans to acquire, by eminent domain if necessary, more than 69 parcels (property) within Marion County to complete this expansion project. To complete this project, FDOT has budgeted more than $15.3 million in right-of-way acquisition funds. Sabal Trail Transmission, LLC Plans to Take Property for the Sabal Trail Natural Gas Pipeline

Sumter County

The proposed Sabal Trail pipeline project will include approximately 465 miles of interstate natural gas pipeline (55 miles in Alabama, 196 miles in Georgia, and 214 miles in Florida) and initially at least 2 compressor stations in Alabama and Florida. The pipeline will be capable of transporting 1 billion cubic feet per day or more of natural gas to serve local distribution companies, industrial users and natural gas-fired power generators in the Southeast markets.
