The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is currently conducting a Project Development and Environment Study (“PD&E”) to consider improvements to County Road 470 from County Road 527 to the Florida Turnpike (State Road 91), a distance of approximately 10.6 miles. This project will take place in Sumter and Lake Counties. The recommended alternative would include a 4-lane divided roadway for improved traffic flow as population increases. Right-of-Way acquisition is expected to cost $24.5 million, and Construction is expected to cost $75 million. The study is expected to be completed by the end of this month, October 2017.
