I-4 Express from US 17-92 to SR 472 - Segment 4

Volusia County

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is currently finishing a Project Development and Environment Study (“PD&E”) for the reconstruction and widening of I-4 as part of the I-4 Beyond the Ultimate concept. Segment 4 (this segment) includes a 10.1 mile section from US-17-92 to SR 472 in Volusia County. The project will improve traffic operations, enhance connectivity, and improve safety of the I-4 mainline and interchange cross-streets associated with I-4. This will be achieved by improving the three General Use lanes in each direction and adding two Express Lanes in each direction, this will result in a total of ten functional lanes on the roadway. Right-of-Way is expected to impact 127 parcels and is budgeted for $42 million. Construction is expected to begin after 2027 unless additional funding can be obtained earlier. Right-of-way and construction are both currently unfunded.
