Orange County is currently in the Design phase of a project to widen Kennedy Boulevard from All American Boulevard to Wymore Road. The project will widen Kennedy Boulevard from the existing two lanes to a four lane roadway. Additionally, pedestrian safety will be improved from new sidewalks and bike lanes.

The project will be completed in two segments:

Segment 1: The Forest City Road intersection
Segment 2: East of the Forest City Road intersection to Wymore Road

The Design phase is expected to be completed for both segments in July 2019. Construction for Segment 1 is expected to begin May 2020 and complete May 2022. Construction for Segment 2 is scheduled to begin November 2021 and complete November 2023. Right-of-way acquisition for Segment 1 is currently underway.
