The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is currently in the Design phase for the expansion of State Road 45 (US 41) in Marion County. The project will span 4.3 miles from 111th Place Lane to SW 61st Street. The purpose is to increase capacity, improve operation, and introduce pedestrian and bicycle facilities. The project will widen the roadway from 2 to 4 lanes, add several turn lanes, and improve bike lanes and sidewalks. Right-of-Way acquisition is ongoing. The project is anticipated to begin construction in late 2021.
