SR 15/US 17 (DeLeon Springs to SR 40)

Volusia County

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) plans to widen SR 15 (US 17) from two lanes to four lanes from DeLeon Springs to SR 40. Drainage, wildlife crossings, and a shared usage path are improvements planned in addition to the project widening. One wildlife crossing will be provided at the Deep Creek Bridges and the other will be located approximately 1/4 miles south of the Hear Island Conservation Area entrance. FDOT has budgeted $16 million for right of way acquisition and $45 million for construction. Letting is scheduled for Summer 2020 and construction is expected to begin shortly thereafter.
