The Florida Department of Transportation’s (“FDOT”) is engaged in the Design phase of a project to widen SR 50 from US 98 (McKethan Road) and US 301 (Treiman Boulevard). The existing two lane road will be widened to a four lane divided road with medians. The project will span 1.8 miles of roadway in Hernando Coumty. Right of way acquisition has been budgeted for $4 million. Construction has been budgeted for $28 million and is expected to begin in 2019.
