The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is currently conducting a Project Development and Environment Study (“PD&E”) on a segment of State Road 60 in Polk and Osceola Counties. The study runs from County Road 630 in Polk County to east of the Kissimmee River Bridge in Osceola County, a distance of 8 miles. FDOT is currently evaluating several alternatives to widen the roadway from two to four lanes. In addition, a parallel bridge would need to be constructed at the Kissimmee River to accommodate the new lanes. The study is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
