The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is currently in the Design phase of a project to widen SR 52 (Schrader Highway) from East of US 41 (SR 45) to West of CR 581 (Bellamy Brothers Blvd). This 8.5 mile project will widen SR 52 from the existing two lane road to a four lane divided road. Additionally, a 12 foot wide multi-use trail will be built along the North side of the roadway. $12.2 million has been budgeted for right of way acquisition. Construction is not yet funded and will be scheduled at a later date.
