I-4 Express from US 27 to CR 532 - Segment 5

Polk County

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is currently finishing a Project Development and Reevaluation Study (“PD&E”) for I-4 Express Segment 5. The project will take place in Polk County from US 27 to West of County Road 532, a length of 4.5 miles. The project will widen I-4 to ten lanes by improving the three General Use lanes and adding two Express lanes in each direction. It will also add an interchange and improve pedestrian and bicycle facilities. Right-of-Way acquisition is funded to begin in 2023. Construction is currently unfunded and will be scheduled once funding is available.
