The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is preparing design plans to widen US 27 from four to six lanes between the Polk/Highlands County Line and CR 630A in Polk County, a distance of 8.6 miles. Additionally, sidewalks will be built on both sides of the road. Design is expected to be completed by late 2020. Right of way acquisition is budgeted for 2022 and Construction is not yet funded.
