The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is preparing design plans for the widening of US 27 (SR 25) from North of County Road 630A to Presidents Drive in Polk County. The project will expand 4.72 miles of US 27 from four to six lanes with a 40-foot grassed median separating the northbound and southbound lanes. The proposed roadway improvements are expected to be constructed within the existing right-of-way. Construction is not yet funded and will be scheduled at a later date.
