Hello, my name is Raymer Maguire, I’m a 30 year practitioner, who limits his practice in eminent domain to representing property owners and businesses. And the question at hand is, what did the Kelo v. City of New London case do for eminent domain law? The Kelo case went all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States. And that case stands for the proposition that it is not a violation of the United States Constitution for the state laws and the state constitution to allow the government to take property where it is only having as the proof of necessity that it wants to transfer it to another property owner, in that case to raise more taxes.
