Carroll Street has three lanes west of Old Dixie Highway and two lanes in each direction east of Old Dixie Highway. Currently, the corridor is undergoing a Project Development Environment Study (“PD&E”) to assess the possibility of providing alternative improvements such as widening the Carroll Street to five lanes with multiple through lanes in both directions. Also, there is a proposed improvement that would add a median between a total of four lanes. The project hopes to address pedestrian needs and overall safety.
