FIND YOUR ROAD PROJECT:

Gateway Expressway

Pinellas County

The Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") is currently constructing the "Gateway Expressway" in Pinellas County. The project will create two new 4-lane elevated tolled roadways that will provide direct connection - with no intersections - between US 19 and I-275 and between the Bayside Bridge (north of 49th Street N) and I-275. The project has two components: (1) Construction of the Gateway Expressway; (2) Widening of I-275 to create express tolled lanes. This project is a "Design-Build" project, meaning that construction has already begun in some areas while Final Design is still being completed. The project is expected to be completed in late 2021.
