NE 36th Avenue (NE 14th Street to NE 35th Street)

Marion County

The Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT")  is currently in the Design phase of a project to widen NE 36th Avenue from NE 14th Street to NE 35th Street. This project is in the City of Ocala in Marion County and will span approximately 1.5 miles. The project has been divided into 3 segments: Segment 1 is from NE 14th Street (SR 492) to NE 20th Place; Segment 2 is from NE 20th Place to NE 25th Street; and Segment 3 is from NE 25th Street to NE 35th Street. The project will widen the existing two-lane road to a four-lane roadway, add bicycle lanes and sidewalks, and improve traffic signals. FDOT has budgeted $15.7 million for right of way acquisition. Construction has not yet been scheduled. SR 45 (US 41) from 111th Place Lane to SW 61st Street

Marion County

The Florida Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) is currently in the Design phase for the expansion of State Road 45 (US 41) in Marion County. The project will span 4.3 miles from 111th Place Lane to SW 61st Street. The purpose is to increase capacity, improve operation, and introduce pedestrian and bicycle facilities. The project will widen the roadway from 2 to 4 lanes, add several turn lanes, and improve bike lanes and sidewalks. Right-of-Way acquisition is ongoing. The project is anticipated to begin construction in late 2021. SR 40 Segment 2

Marion County

The Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") is currently in the Design phase of a project to widen and reconstruct SR 40 from east of CR 314 to east of CR 314A in Marion County. This project is Segment 2 of the SR 40 widening project. The new roadway will have two 12-foot lanes in each direction separated by a 40-foot grassed median. This project is currently not funded for right-of-way or construction. FDOT anticipates budgeting $27 million for right-of-way acquisition. SR 40 from Southwest 40th Avenue to Southwest 27th Avenue

Marion County

The Florida Department of Transportation is currently in the Design phase of a project to improve SR 40 at interchanges from Southwest 40th Avenue to Southwest 27th Avenue in Marion County. This project will improve the interchange at I-75 by extending the existing left turn lanes along eastbound and westbound SR 40 and providing dual left turn lanes and a right turn lane for northbound and southbound exit ramps. Additionally, improvements to SR 40 at the SW 27th Avenue intersection will be made to accommodate the new turn lanes. Right-of-way acquisition has been budgeted for $5.3 million and if funded through 2022. Construction is not yet funded and will be scheduled at a later date. SR 326 Turn Lane Addition

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is planning to add a right turn lane for southbound County Road 25A to westbound State Road 326. In addition, a right turn lane from westbound State Road 326 to northbound County Road 25A is currently being researched. This project will take place in Marion County, on State Road 326, between Railroad Crossing 627142B to east of County Road 25A, a length of 0.216 miles. This project is currently in the Design phase. FDOT expects to spend about $784,000 on Right-of-Way acquisition.
