SR 20 from Alachua County Line to Southwest 56th Avenue
Putnam County
The Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") has proposed a 12 mile, three segment roadway widening from east of US 301 in Hawthorne to County Road 315 in Interlachen. The second and middle segment is pictured bellow and encompasses widening from the Alachua County line to Southwest 56th Avenue. The widening of the corridor is expected to provide additional mobility and increase overall safety. The project will widen the corridor from a two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane urban roadway. Additionally, a 10 foot multi-use path will be constructed on the south side of the roadway. The estimated Right-of-Way budget for the three segment project is $34.3 million. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2019 and complete in Fall 2021.
