SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) from East of Kingsway Road to East of McIntosh Road

The Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") is developing construction plans to add lanes and reconstruct a 2.4 mile segment of the SR 574 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) from east of Kingsway Road to east of McIntosh Road in Hillsborough County. The project will widen SR 574 from a two lane road to a four lane divided roadway with medians, bike lanes, and a sidewalk. It will also improve intersections at Valrico Road and McIntosh Road and replace a low level bridge. Right of way acquisition is currently underway and has been budgeted for $26 million. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2022. I-275 from West of SR 60/Memorial to North of Spruce Street

The Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") resurfaced the northbound and southbound directions of Interstate 275 from the SR 60 exit 39A to Memorial Highway in June 2016. FDOT also resurfaced the interchange ramps in the same area, as well as eastbound SR 60 from Cypress Street to Interstate 275. The budget for the one-mile project is estimated to be $3.4 million. The I-275/I-4 Interchange project is in the Project Development and Environment Study (“PD&E”) phase of assessment to address potential needs for a growing city. The project begins in central Hillsborough County from I-275 from Rome Ave. to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The project length is just under 4.5 miles long with improvements intended to integrate express lanes, increase traffic flow, and lessen overall travel time.
